DESCRIPTION: On Tuesday, September the 12th, residents who live inside the Grove city limits will be voting on a bond issue designed to pay for the building of a new police station and a new fire station in the city. Right now, our police department and fire department are working out of buildings that are almost 45 years old, structurally damaged, and quickly becoming inadequately equipped to meet the demands of our growing community. If you’ve never seen the police or fire station, both departments are having an open house on Wednesday, August 16th and Wednesday, August 23rd, from 10 am to Noon or 6 pm to 8 pm. There will also be two Town Hall meetings to learn more about the new police and fire station, the bond that will pay for them, and its impact on property taxes. Those meetings are Thursday, August 24th at 5:30and Thursday, September 7th at 7 pm in Room 7 at the Grove Community Center.
